First Russian synthesizer

We did this reporting in the autumn.

On October, 16th in the Russian museum of musical culture have transferred the first in the world and unique photoelectronic synthesizer - АNS. It has invented and constructed the Soviet military engineer Evgenie Murzin.
For the first time this synthesizer has earned in 1957. And serial model have made by 1964. On this musical instrument wrote music to films "Stalker" and "Solaris".
The main element of ANS – a disk of the photooptical generator. It is made of glass. On it are written down on a circle of 144 pure tones. The disk is very similar to modern CDs. Murzin did its three years.
Light passes through rotating disk. It generates electric impulses of certain frequency. Impulses turn to sounds with an interval of 1/72 octaves.
It is possible to pass smoothly from a sound to a sound as though you play a violoncello or a violin.
When between a disk and the generator anything is not present, it is possible to hear white noise. Play all sounds which are written down on a disk.
To receive a melody, it is necessary to insert the score into a synthesizer. It is a plate covered with black mastic. On it strips by means of the coder are drawn. Sounds turn out, when light gets to these strips. Duration of a sound depends on speed of movement of a plate and length of lines on it. The composer does not write music, and draws it:)
